An art series featuring long-exposure portraits of subjects in the style of Michael Ackerman. Expressly made to capture the raw unfiltered day-to-day lives of PEOPLE.
Featuring photos of PEOPLE from all walks of life, the ultimate purpose of this series is to present an alternative perspective of those around you. All through the lens of a grimy, avant-garde artist. Each portrait is taken in a setting that is familiar and representative of the subject as an individual.
Each photo in this gallery has been taken using a digital camera and edited using Adobe Photoshop to replicate a filmic quality. With each subsequent entry in this series pushing the envelope of what a "good" photograph is. Rather than aiming to minimize motion blur, grain, and unsharpened imagery this series embraces these concepts and utilizes them to create the compositions.
All photos are taken with the expressed consent of the individuals captured in it.

Quiet Reverence

Bayaan A. (She/Her) In her own words: "In prayer, I find a peaceful refuge from life's chaos. With every prostration and bow, it's a physical act and a way of showing humility and respect to my Creator. This is a moment of pure reflection.
In the quiet of prayer, I feel calm and comforted, like everything else fades away and only the divine remains. It's not just a routine; it's a safe constant where I can share my thoughts and feelings with God. Prayer helps me find strength in my lord and is an act that I find grounds me in a culture of constant movement with little time for contentment."
